Vila do Bispo delivers 95 baskets to needy families

Households covered by the offer were referred by the Social Action services of the City Council

The Vila do Bispo Council delivered Christmas hampers to 95 needy families in the municipality, in an action that took place from the 12th to the 16th of December. 

The households covered by the offer were referred by the Social Action services of the City Council in conjunction with the Local Social Security Service of Vila do Bispo, the Cultural and Social Center of Figueira and Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo, through the Food Bank Against Hunger and the European Support Fund for the Underprivileged (FEAC).

According to the composition and characteristics of each household, the baskets are made up of food items such as cod, bolo-rei, olive oil, oil, potatoes, pasta, milk, cans of tuna, cheese, flour, rice, sugar, cans of beans and grain, among other products.

In a press release, the City Council “thanks for the support of Intersodisagres, the parish councils of the municipality and Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Bispo, entities that contributed to make this cause possible”.
