The Municipality of Portimão will deliver seven thousand shopping vouchers to pre-school children and young people, 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles of education in the county, for a total amount of 105 euros.
The aim is to support local businesses and families who are experiencing more financial difficulties this Christmas. The vouchers have a unit value of 15 euros, will be distributed among the five School Groups in the municipality and can be redeemed until 31 January in the network of participating stores and services.
The measure is part of the campaign "Value Local Commerce", the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Portimão and the Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region (ACRAL), the Portimonense Association of Commerce and Services (APCS) and the Tourism Association from Portimao (ATP).
Stimulating the economy «at a time of accentuated difficulties for commerce and restoration in the municipality during the festive season» is also the objective of this initiative, for which 30 thousand euros were allocated.
Running between the 7th of December and the 17th of January, there is also an initiative aimed at people aged 18 or over who shop at participating stores and deliver the respective coupons, duly filled in, on the 1st floor of the Balcão Único de Portimão , located on Rua do Comércio, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm and from 13:00 pm to 17:30 pm.
For each purchase equal to or greater than 10 euros, customers of participating local commerce, catering and service establishments receive coupons for the weekly draws that will enable them to win shopping vouchers worth 25, 50, 100 euros.
The adhesion of establishments to the campaign is free of charge, and must be done by filling in the respective form in person at the Balcão Único, after which they will immediately receive the coupons to be given to customers after each purchase.
The participating stores are identified with a sign that displays the initiative's logo, with the drawings related to the competition scheduled for the 14th, 21st and 28th of December and the 4th, 11th and 18th of January, always at 11:00 am, at the premises of the Single Counter.
Each week, 80 shopping vouchers worth 25, 30 and 50 euros and 15 worth 100 euros will be raffled, for a total of 5 thousand euros in prizes to be used in participating establishments, with the winners being able to withdraw their vouchers after being notified of the prize received, in order to use them in any associated store until the 31st of January, in a minimum purchase of 10 euros.
