20 bales of hashish, with a total weight of around one tonne, were seized early this Sunday, December 4th, by the Maritime Police, in the Algarve.
It all happened during a patrolling action.
The elements of the Maritime Police detected a high-speed vessel, suspected of drug trafficking.
During the pursuit, the crew of the suspected vessel dropped dozens of drug bales into the sea, which were later collected by members of the Maritime Police, with the support of a Quick Inspection Boat (LFR) from the Portuguese Navy.
The drug was handed over to the Judiciary Police.
