Silves Municipal Budget for 2023 rises to 65,4 million euros

The budget was approved with the votes in favor of the CDU (4) and the abstentions of the PSD (2) and PS (1) councilors

The Câmara de Silves approved a Municipal Budget of 65,4 million euros for 2023. 

This proposal represents an increase of 7,2 million euros, compared to 2022, whose budget amounted to 58,2 million euros.

The budget was approved with CDU votes in favor (4) and PSD (2) and PS (1) councilors abstaining. The documents will also be submitted to the Municipal Assembly, whose session is scheduled for December 27th.

According to the Câmara de Silves, “current revenues are expected to reach 58,2 million euros and current expenses to reach 41,5 million euros. Capital revenue points to 5,4 million euros and capital expenditure (investment) to 22,9 million euros, the latter figure being a fundamental indicator of the great municipal dynamics in terms of the implementation of projects and works».

Some of the planned works are the Variant to the Industrial Perimeter of Algoz, the urban requalification of the streets in downtown Armação de Pêra – 1st phase, the requalification of Rua D. João II, in Armação de Pêra, the requalification of the Historic Center of São Bartolomeu de Messines, the rehabilitation of infrastructures in Vila de Pêra, the requalification of the access to the Silves Station, the refurbishment of the Estrada da Antiga Alicoop – boundary of the municipality of Lagoa, the EB1 School of Alcantarilha, the construction/alteration of the hostel for senior residence in S. Marcos da Serra and the improvement/functional adaptation of the Health Centers in Armação de Pêra, São Bartolomeu de Messines, Alcantarilha and Tunes.
