Lagoa has a budget of 48 million for 2023 to support citizens and carry out work

Priorities are helping Lagoans who need it, water supply and housing.

The Câmara de Lagoa will have in 2023 «the biggest budget ever», of more than 48 million euros, whose main focus will be on supporting the population, completing the water supply works, which are of «vital importance», and social housing at controlled costs.

The document, approved on the 14th of December by the Municipal Assembly of Lagoa, is based on «two purposes», water supply and housing, to which are added «six commitments».

But, warns Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa, if the choice is between helping residents and doing work, the choice has already been made.

«This is, once again, a budget whose priority is to support the people of Lagos. If we have to decide between doing work and supporting families in Lagos, we will stop doing work. The second priority will be the replacement of water pipes [already in progress] and the third, housing », he summarized.

According to the Câmara de Lagoa, the proposal that was approved «will continue to affirm Lagoa as one of the best municipalities to live, work, study and visit», but also as «an attractive municipality for investors and visitors looking for the best of the Algarve ».

The executive also undertakes to «continue the strong investment made in areas such as education, culture, social action, sport, caring for the public space and providing the municipality with vital infrastructure for Lagoa and for the people of Lagoa» .
