Portugal beat Switzerland 6-1 and stamped the passage to the quarterfinals of the World Cup

Gonçalo Ramos, born in Olhão, became, this Tuesday, December 6th, the first Algarvean to score in a football World Cup. The young striker contributed with three goals to Portugal's thrashing of Switzerland in the round of XNUMX of the competition.

Ramos scored the first goal for the Portuguese team in the 17th minute, in a great left-footed shot, halfway around, inside the area.

The Algarve's second goal came at the beginning of the second half. With the score already at 2-0, Gonçalo Ramos scored the third for Portugal, after crossing Diogo Dalot.

The striker's hat-trick was sealed in the 67th minute. João Félix launched Gonçalo Ramos who, in front of Sommer, spiked the ball into the back of the net.

Portugal beat Switzerland 6-1 and stamped their passage to the quarterfinals of the World Cup, where they will meet, next Saturday, December 10, Morocco. The game will start at 15:00.

The Portuguese team had not made it this far in a World Cup since 2006.
