Almond Blossom Festival is back

The event program will be available from January 3

Pedestrian walks, shows, street market, gastronomic workshops and much more. It is the “Festival of the Almond Trees in Blossom” that returns from the 3rd to the 5th of February to Alta Mora (Castro Marim).

The program is not closed yet, but there are already some differences compared to the first edition of this festival.

In addition to having one more day, there will be more pedestrian walks, new shows, a wider street market and artisan village, as well as a space dedicated to traditional agriculture and forestry. There will also be gastronomic workshops and almond tree planting workshops.

«The Almond Tree Festival is a strategic initiative to promote and revitalize the values, traditions and identity of the territory, with the main objective of combating desertification and the rampant depopulation of the interior of the Algarve mountains. Thus, the second edition intends to assert itself as one of the great cultural events that marks the tourist route of the region in the middle of the low season», says the Associação Recreativa, Cultural e Desportiva dos Amigos da Alta Mora

Without the support of 365Algarve, the 2023 edition takes place without co-financing but with the support and partnership of the Municipality of Castro Marim and the collaboration of several other entities and institutions: Parish Council of Odeleite, Associação Odiana, Associação In Loco, Associação Artística Satori , Association for the Defense, Rehabilitation, Research and Promotion of the Natural and Cultural Heritage of Cacela (ADRIP), the Center for Culture and Sports for the Staff of the Castro Marim City Council, the Hotel and Tourism School of Vila Real de Santo António and the Refood from VRSA.

The event program will be available from the 3rd of January.
