António Feu is the current president of the General Assembly of GAMP. «In addition to his notable sports career in the most varied modalities, he has a strong connection to this museum and its former factory, as an active and dynamic industrialist of the “Sociedade Feu Hermanos”, for his intense collaboration in the development of historical knowledge, in particular of canning activity".

«As part of its contribution to enriching the collections and cultural heritage of the Portimão Museum, special mention should be made of the important donation of the documentary “O Jogo da Sardinha”, produced at its factories in Santo António and São Francisco, on display at the core “ Industrial Life and the Challenge of the Sea” from the main exhibition: “Portimão: Territory and Identity“».

As a founding partner of the Group of Friends of the Museum of Portimão, António Feu «an illustrious citizen, is a strong reference for our association, fulfilling all the characteristics for this designation».

The third honorary member is «the former director of RTP, the historian Helder Mendes, for his relevant contribution, with particular emphasis on the knowledge of the maritime and underwater heritage, not only of the estuary of the River Arade, but of the Algarve and the whole country. ».

«His gatherings held here “Os Barcos do Rio Arade“, “Almadrava – A Tuna Fishing”” and “Homens na Falésia” were excellent examples of this and authentic history lessons».

«Equally relevant was the offer of his documentary “Os Barcos do Arade”, during the dredging of the 70s and shown in the exhibition nucleus “Rio Arade: a Gateway to the Mediterranean”, as well as the donation of a Roman amphora recovered by him in the our underwater context, currently deposited in the Museum and enriching the archaeological collection».
