Teia D'Impulsos carries out educational Christmas Action “Dar para Educar”

Teia D'Impulsos joined the Eng. Nuno Mergulhão

“Dar para Educar” is the motto of the Christmas action that the Teia D'Impulsos Association implements this year, through the collection of artistic material and didactic games to support the learning of all children, for a more inclusive school community, in the Group of Eng Schools. Nuno Mergulhão, in Portimão.

Teia D'Impulsos joined forces with the Eng. Nuno Mergulhão to provide its Learning Support Centers and Multiple Disability Unit with “wearing materials, educational and didactic games” this Christmas season.

Anyone wishing to contribute to this cause should go to the top floor of Espaço Raiz, in Portimão, and leave their gift next to the association's Christmas Tree until the 15th of December.

Sub-director Gisela Maia advances that the initiative will benefit around 129 students, between 4 and 16 years old, from the entire Grouping. Wear materials (eg charcoal and colored pencils, markers, paints, brushes, glue, plasticine, cardboard, cellophane paper and moosgummi) are used to “promote plastic expression activities”, while educational and didactic games develop “skills cognitive, sensory and emotional skills” in addition to “concentration, language/communication, visual memory, calculation, logical reasoning, fine motor skills and strategic thinking”, describes the person in charge.

The Group of Schools Eng. Nuno Mergulhão also presents a list with suggestions of some of the most beneficial games for this development: logical sequence games (actions, cards, dice) and visual memory, puzzles, wooden educational toys, globe, Boccia kits, Scrabble, Jenga , O Sabichão, Junior Monopoly, Junior Trivial Pursuit, “I discover emotions” and “My positive affirmations”.

In the words of Gisela Maia, “this action helps to develop the associative spirit, mutual help, solidarity and inclusion. This type of association encourages the sharing of active citizenship, presenting itself as strategic in building a proactive society and an inclusive school community”.

On behalf of Teia D'Impulsos, the member of the Board and mentor of the initiative, Inês Reis, comments: “Christmas is a time of sharing, hope and joy. With this action, we intend to bring smiles and new learning tools to such special children and young people”.
