Teatro Experimental de Lagos presents “Sonhar com o Bill”

On display December 9th and 10th

“Sonhar com o Bill” is the new creation of Teatro Experimental de Lagos, with its premiere scheduled for the 9th and 10th of December at the Centro Cultural de Lagos.

Understanding the thinking of contemporary children was the starting point of João Catarino, Nelda Magalhães and Nuno Murta for the creation of this show with disciplinary crossings (theatre, video and sound) that starts from an artistic investigation with five classes of the 1st cycle of education basic education, coming from the Gil Eanes School Grouping, the Júlio Dantas School Grouping and the S. Gonçalo College.

So that the children could participate in the creative process as co-creators, they were asked questions about life, society and change, through the languages of performing arts and visual arts. «The result is the discovery of the private world of two characters who, on stage, expose their dreams, their fears, their loneliness, the weakness and courage typical of a human being under construction», refers the theater group in note.

Through the fabrication of an imaginary friend, the characters will thus overcome their obstacles and find new directions in their life paths. With a minimalist aesthetic proposal, the piece features interpretations by Leo Lobo and Nelda Magalhães.

Aimed at 1st cycle school audiences, the show will have two sessions for schools on December 9th, at 9:30 am and 11:00 am. On the 10th, it will be at 16 pm for the general public, focusing on families.

The age rating is for ages 3 and up.

“Sonhar com o Bill” is a project financed by DG Artes – Simplified Public Awareness and Management Program, by the Municipality of Lagos, by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and by the Parish Council of S. Gonçalo de Lagos.
