Silves improves accessibility and mobility at the Cano site

Staircase was built with recycled material

The Municipality of Silves decided to improve accessibility and mobility by installing a staircase made of recycled material at the Cano site, in the parish of São Bartolomeu de Messines.

The new infrastructure, with an extension of about 20 meters, is made of non-slip material, with security guards and a small viewpoint. The objective is to facilitate the movement of residents, especially the elderly.

«Municipal investment is part of the more general strategy of responding to accessibility and mobility issues, with the adoption of an inclusive look at the territory and the integration of all», says the municipality in a note.
