Resolution that relaunches the work of the Central Hospital published in Diário da República

Minister of Health assured, a few days ago, that the tender for the construction will be launched next year

The resolution of the Council of Ministers, which determines the study and preparation of the launch of a new public-private partnership (PPP) for the construction of the Algarve Central Hospital, was published this Wednesday, November 9, in the Diário da República.

this resolution had been approved at the end of September, but has only now been published in DR.

The document determines “to proceed with the process of studying and preparing the launch of a new public-private partnership for the construction and equipping of the building of the new Hospital Central do Algarve, under the terms provided for in articles 9 to 14 of the Decree - Law n.º 111/2012, of 23 May, in its current wording, including the constitution of a project team under the terms of article 10 of the aforementioned decree-law».

On a visit to the Algarve, last Friday, November 4th, the Minister of Health also spoke about the Central Hospital, guaranteeing that the tender for the construction will be launched next year.

Luís Graça, president of PS/Algarve, has already reacted to the publication of the resolution in the Diário da República, underlining «the nature of celerity imposed» by António Costa.

The parliamentarian "welcomes the special commitment of the Prime Minister and the Government in the rapid dynamization and conclusion of this preparatory phase of the procedure, essential to meet the electoral commitment of the Socialist Party with the Algarve".

Finally, Luís Graça suggests the creation of a monitoring committee that will bring together personalities from the Algarve linked to health, higher education, local authorities and state services in the region, which will monitor all the procedures step by step and publicly scrutinize the implementation of the new hospital.
