Portimão wants requalification of the Youth Park as early as 2023

The new tender has a base value of around 1,9 million euros

The Portimão City Council will launch a new contest for the requalification of the Youth Park, which it wants to start next year.

This will be the second time that the public procedure will be launched after it was not possible to award the contract in 2020, since the companies that submitted proposals did so at a price higher than the base value of the tender, at the time budgeted at around 1,3 million euros.

In a press release, the Portimão Chamber “takes advantage of this setback to update and review the specifications of these two interventions, carrying out an update of prices in the order of 50% more in relation to 2020, due to the fact that the previous tender was deserted. and given the latest circumstances affecting the European economy'.

The new tender thus has a base value of around 1,9 million euros.

The Portimão City Council «assumes that the Landscape Requalification of the Youth Park is an extremely relevant work for the Municipality, as it concerns the area of ​​the main green leisure and recreation park in the city, which is substantially degraded and inadequate to current needs, a fact that which has significantly limited its potential for use'.

On the other hand, the municipality intends, “through the construction of the Radical Park of Portimão, to provide the city with a sports infrastructure that currently does not exist and that is long awaited by the expressive community of practitioners of the modalities involved”.
