O PCP will hold the 10th Assembly of the Regional Organization of the Algarve on December 10 with the presence of Paulo Raimundo, the party's new general secretary.
This will be Paulo Raimundo's first initiative in the Algarve, it will take place in Faro, in the auditorium of the Hotel and Tourism School, at 10:00 am, and will be attended by around 180 delegates.
In this initiative, an assessment of the national and regional reality will be made, proposals from the PCP will be presented, the main lines of intervention of the party in the Algarve will be defined for the coming years and there will be the election of the future direction of the Regional Organization of the Algarve – DORAL of the PCP.
With the motto “Taking the initiative, strengthening the Party for an Algarve with a future”, the proposal for a resolution of the 10th Assembly makes, according to the PCP, an assessment and characterization of the region, “of the multiple bottlenecks facing its development, of the problems and aspirations of the workers and populations of the Algarve, but also of the vast set of proposals that the PCP presents in this region and that are inseparable from an alternative policy that it defends, a patriotic and left-wing policy», says the party in a note.
In addition to the discussion and approval of the proposal for a Political Resolution that is being debated by all the PCP organizations, «the great concerns and aspirations of the region» will be present, such as the fight for the increase in wages and pensions and against precariousness, the defense of public services, namely the SNS and the Public School, the defense of the rights of children and parents, the commitment to the diversification of economic activity, the demand for more public investment in the region, the demand for support for free creation, among others.
