Rallye Casinos do Algarve will hit the road next weekend

Rallye Casinos do Algarve will hit the road next weekend and Lagoa will be the epicenter of the event, since the Municipal Fairs and Exhibitions Park is the place for the assistance park for the participating teams.

The action starts on Saturday morning, with a qualifying round in Porches, which will define the starting order for the first section, with the official departure to be given at 14:00, in the Municipal Park of Fairs and Exhibitions (FATACIL venue)

The traditional closing event of the Portuguese rally championship, the Rallye Casinos do Algarve, is one of the oldest events on the national rally calendar and, similarly to the 2014 edition, also hosts the Portuguese Rally Cup.

There are 46 competitors who are going to conquer the Portuguese Rally Cup 2022, in a platoon divided between the various groups of vehicles that can be found in Portuguese rallies. Highlight for the participation of the duo from Algarve, Ricardo Teodósio and José Teixeira, which has the support of the Municipality of Lagoa and who were national champions in 2019 and 2021.

Rallye Casinos do Algarve is an organization of the Clube Automóvel do Algarve, with the support of the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation, Solverde Casinos and Hotels, the municipalities of Lagoa, Lagos, Monchique and Portimão, as well as Medronhito do Caldeirão.

“Lagoa hosts major events is the third axis of our municipal sports development strategy. Hosting major sporting events in Lagoa helps us to promote sport among the youngest and stimulate the local economy through sports tourism. May it be a great test”, said Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa.
