Luís Graça re-elected as president of the PS/Algarve Federation with 69,5%

Luís Graça was this Saturday, November 5, re-elected as president of the PS/Algarve Federation with 69,5% of the votes of socialist militants, while the B list headed by Vítor Aleixo collected 30,3%.

To what Sul Informação found, Aleixo only won, and categorically, in the two municipalities of his municipality – Loulé, where he got 66,1% of the votes against 33,8% for Graça, and Almancil, where the vote was 66,7, 33,3% for the mayor of Loulé and XNUMX% for the deputy.

in the municipality of Faro, Luís Graça came out the winner (56,5%) but the distance not too wide from Vítor Aleixo (43,4%).

In his native Lagos, Graça also won very significantly, getting 86,8% against 13,1% of his opponent.

There was at least one municipality where Luís Graça got the vote: Monchique (100%).

Delegates to the next PS Regional Congress were also elected, to be held on 19 November in Lagos, during which the Regional Policy Commission and the other federative bodies will be elected.

In the electoral process for the Presidency of the Federative Department of Socialist Women – Equality and Rights, the sole candidate Ana Passos was elected.

COC president Hugo Pereira welcomed the high turnout in this electoral process, over 80% of the Algarve socialist militants with the right to vote.

In a message sent to militants, the re-elected president of the Algarve PS thanked “the vote of confidence of women and men from all structures of the Socialist Party in the Algarve” and said he counts on “everyone for the necessary unity of regional political action” .

«This expressive victory consolidates the leadership of PS Algarve for the demanding times ahead and where it will be necessary to reinforce social policies and the close relationship of the mayors with people and families», added Luís Graça.

«PS Algarve will give priority to public housing policies, so that, together with the Government and the municipalities, we will provide affordable homes for the middle class and workers, health with the advancement of the new central hospital in the Algarve and the renovation of structures of family and proximity health, the execution of the water efficiency plan to guarantee water in quality and quantity in the region and the fight against climate change, and regional mobility, namely the electrification of the railway line and the reduction of tolls in the region.
