A market, exhibitions of Sacred Art, Ukrainian Circus and nativity scenes make up the program of the “Albufeira Natal” event, which runs from the 8th to the 31st of December.
On the first day, Santa Claus arrives at Avenida da Liberdade at 15 pm. The Christmas Market, which also opens on that day, will feature 00 stands with options ranging from confectionery to handicrafts, at Largo Eng. Duarte Pacheco. Also on Avenida 25 de Abril you will find daily street entertainment with Santa Claus and his elves. The animation also features the Ice Rink and the Christmas Globe.
Casa do Santa Claus will be there to receive the children's letters, and Santa Claus Atelier, at Galeria Samora Barros, where there will also be various activities, including workshops for making gifts and Christmas cookies. The Christmas Train will run from the escalators to Avenida da Liberdade.
One of the novelties of the program is the Exhibition of Sacred Art alluding to the miracle of Belém, from the private collection of Maria de Jesus Bispo and recycled Nativity scenes with which school students toasted the Municipality, at the store in Parking P5.
In addition, the program includes a show by Circo Bravo, from Ukraine, starting on the 12th of December.
The Christmas Stage will also be prepared for various performances by guests and local associations, every day with different programs, framed in the spirit of the season.
«It is a rich program, this year», says the mayor José Carlos Rolo, adding that «it comes to restore the dream to our citizens, which had been 'stolen' by the pandemic. That is why this year, we are strongly committed to returning to the streets, to the magic of Christmas and to meeting everyone, of all generations».
The inauguration of “Albufeira Natal” is scheduled for 12h00 on the 8th of December and the schedule will be between 18h00 and 22h00, from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays and on the 8th of December, the opening hours are from 12:00 to 22:00 and on the 24th and 31st of December, between 12:00 and 16:00.
