São Brás de Alportel Cemetery has already begun to be expanded

The project will cost around €400.

The São Brás de Alportel cemetery has already begun to be expanded to the west, in an investment of around 400 thousand euros.

The project is being carried out by the Parish Council of São Brás de Alportel, with the support of the municipality, which granted a support of 100 thousand euros to carry out the work.

The Cemetery expansion project “contemplates the creation of a new wing with the construction of sealing walls, installation of water, sanitation, electricity and accessibility infrastructures, as well as the creation of a new model for the construction of graves for temporary burials”, according to the Chamber of São Brás de Alportel.

The project was prepared by the local company Gaprocor and the work, awarded to the company Sérgio Caiado Raminhos e sons, is already underway.

«Recently, the Parish Council developed two phases of the project to requalify the exterior space of the Municipal Cemetery, which allowed to improve the planning, parking and accessibility, for all, to this space», added the municipality.
