Algarve Tourism Association campaign wants to take tourists to Monchique

“Let Monchique guide your adventure”. This is the motto of a new promotional campaign, launched by Associação Turismo do Algarve (ATA), which challenges tourists to discover this county in the interior of the Algarve. 

The campaign, which will run until the end of the year, is made up of several pieces of video and photography, «revealing that, from the tourist who travels alone, to the one who vacations as a couple or who does not need the company of family or friends, they all manage to live, in Monchique, an adventure tailored to their needs», says the ATA.

The images, captured in the municipality over nine days, «show the richness of the tourist offer that can be found here, highlighting activities in nature, spas, culture and heritage and also the authenticity of the local gastronomy. ».

«With this campaign, we want to arouse the interest of all types of tourists and demonstrate that Monchique has much more to offer than its fantastic natural landscapes. The message we intend to convey is that, regardless of the plans and motivations that bring them to the Algarve, all travelers can find the adventure they are looking for in Monchique, having the opportunity to be surprised and to live unique and truly transformative experiences here» , explains João Fernandes, president of ATA.

Directed mainly to the most relevant social networks – Facebook, Instagram and YouTube –, the campaign will also be present in several newspapers and magazines, in the main international markets it aims to reach: Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

All materials will be available in six languages ​​(including Portuguese, in addition to the five languages ​​of the aforementioned markets), with the aim of reaching millions of potential visitors.

This initiative is part of the project “Revitalize Monchique – Tourism as a catalyst”, which seeks to give this municipality a new lease of life by creating attractive conditions for the development of local tourism. In promoting this campaign, ATA has as partners Almargem – Associação de Defesa do Patrimônio Cultural e Ambiental do Algarve and the Municipality of Monchique, also counting on the support of Turismo de Portugal.
