Banco Alimentar do Algarve resumes in-store collection in times of crisis

Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome once again promotes a food collection campaign in supermarkets in the Algarve on the 26th and 27th of November.

This solidarity campaign is carried out at a time when more and more people are facing difficulties, not only in the wake of «the enormous challenge in 2020 and 2021, resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic», but also because of the consequences of the war in Ukraine. .

As always, the collection is based on voluntary work, so the Algarve BACF is appealing to anyone who wants to help to register.

“We need your help for this cause. already found link available to participate in the collection of food items🇧🇷 One hour of your day makes all the difference in the days of thousands of families», appeals Nuno Cabrita Alves, president of Banco Alimentar do Algarve.

Volunteers are needed to guarantee the teams in the 160 participating stores, spread across all municipalities in the region, as well as in the Faro and Portimão.

«All help is important, at a time when thousands of families need support due to an inflationary crisis, with a strong impact on food. Help can be done in stores with food or vouchers, but also on the website Feed this Idea with food donations or through financial support, in Food Bank website.

The Banco Alimentar do Algarve reminds «all companies in the food sector, such as producers, industry and distributors, that they can deliver their surpluses».

«More than ever, all donations are fundamental and make a difference in each person's life», they add.
