ANAFRE – Associação Nacional de Freguesias signed, on the 10th of November, a protocol with the Open University, which aims to update and reconvert the skills of employees, elected locally, but also of the population. The protocol is considered “another step in strengthening the digital responses of parishes in Portugal”.

The agreement is part of the Impulso 2025 Project, which Universidade Aberta is the promoter of, and aims to improve the digital response of ANAFRE employees, taking into account the global changes in the area of digitization.

“On the path of the Digital Transition, it is very important that no one is left behind. This is why ANAFRE signed a Protocol with the Open University that will allow, with the involvement of the Parishes, to contribute to strengthening digital literacy”, says Jorge Veloso, president of ANAFRE.

The actions to be promoted will focus on four strategic areas: Distance and Digital Education, Transition and Digital Transformation, Objectives and Sustainable Development, Languages and Communication.

They are part of the main objective of reinforcing and diversifying post-secondary and higher-level training, ensuring the reconversion and updating of skills of municipal officials, local elected officials and the general population.
