The Municipality of Aljezur bought three more vacuum cleaners for urban cleaning to deliver them to the Parishes of Bordeira, Odeceixe and Rogil, which are equipped with this type of equipment, similar to what was already happening in the parish of Aljezur.
«These electric vacuum cleaners allow the vacuuming of various types of urban waste as they pass, namely leaves, cigarette butts, papers and other debris. It is a new piece of equipment that makes cleaning the streets, sidewalks and leisure spaces more agile and efficient and guarantees better working conditions in the various parishes, contributing to the improvement of the service provided to all citizens», describes the Aljezur City Council0. .
The equipment acquired and placed in the parishes, «considered criteria and reasons of a geographical and demographic nature, namely dispersion, territorial fragmentation and low population density», as well as the distance to be covered by the Municipality's workers to carry out urban cleaning in the parishes.
This investment of around 50 thousand euros «is a bet to improve urban cleaning and a bet on cleaner and more environmentally friendly energies, another contribution to reducing the ecological footprint» of the municipality, concluded the municipality.
