University of Algarve has “capacity” almost sold out after the 3rd phase of access

Total placement rate was well above the national average

The University of Algarve is among the «Portuguese institutions with the greatest demand», thanks to the total occupancy rate of 97,6% that it registers, when the three phases of the National Competition for Access to Higher Education 2022/23 are completed.

According to the results of this competition, the total rate of placement in the UAlg «was again higher than that of the country (92,1%), standing 5,5 percentage points above the national average». In all, “1572 new students were placed” in the Algarve academy, according to UAlg.

The University of Algarve points out that in the last four years it went “from an occupancy rate of 86,3% in 2018/2019 to 97,6% in 2022/23, with an increase of 11 percentage points” .

According to data from the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES), released by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES), “50.315 students entered public higher education in 2022-2023 through the national access contest”, considering all the phases, of which 29.948 entered universities and 20.367 polytechnics.

In the 3rd phase of the national access competition, 61 new students were placed at the UAlg (1034 at the national level), who must, by Thursday, October 20, register and register.
