Algarve Tourism promotes itself “out there” without leaving the region

RTA will attend two events and promote a fam trip

Participate in a fair that takes place in the Algarve region, but which is very foreign, and in an event dedicated to nature, also indoors, and carry out a fam trip focused on the sport segment are the ways in which the Algarve will promote itself as a tourist destination in October.

This weekend, the 8th and 9th of October, the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) will be present at the BLIP Expo – Better Living In Portugal, in Portimão Arena, with a promotional stand for the destination, «a space created in partnership with the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA), where regional wine producers will also be able to promote, sell and show their wines», according to Turismo from the Algarve.

The event is organized by the Association of Foreigners Residents and Owners in Portugal (AFPOP), «presents products and services to live better in Portugal, and has the direct involvement of RTA to provide tourist information about the region to visitors».

Between the 18th and 22nd of October, Aljezur will host the “Algarve + Sustainable” event, which brings together the Nature Tourism Biennial and the Algarve Nature Fest, «becoming the largest nature tourism initiative in the Algarve».

Co-organized by RTA, together with the Municipality of Aljezur and Associação Vicentina, the event «aims to respond to the needs of stakeholders in the promotion of places, activities, good practices and knowledge around sustainable tourism in the region».

The first day is aimed at young people, followed by three days for professionals (19 to 21) and a last day open to the general public, in an event that this year includes knowledge workshops, debates, exhibitions and nature.

RTA will also reinforce its commitment to the Spanish market, through a fam trip which will take place from the 19th to the 22nd of October, organized in conjunction with the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA).

«This action aims to publicize the offer of sports tourism in the Algarve to tour operators in Spain, and through ATA also in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and is part of the project Internacionalizar + Algarve 2.0, which RTA and ATA integrate with the perspective of stimulating the sharing of knowledge between partners, the empowerment of SMEs in the Algarve for internationalization and the development of innovative mechanisms for accessing new foreign markets», frames the tourism region.

These initiatives arise within the scope of promoting the Algarve in the wider domestic market (Portugal and Spain), one of the main competences of the regional tourism entity, in addition to entertainment and tourist information.
