Poetry, music and lunar observation mark the next days of Álvaro de Campos' Birthday Party

Poetic and musical show takes place this Sunday

Pedro Lopes, a young actor, author, performer and violinist, winner of the Young Musician Award in 2013, will star this Sunday, October 30, in a poetic and musical show that recreates the Triumphal Day (March 8, 1914), when Fernando Pessoa created his main heteronyms.

The show takes place in the Chapel of the Pousada do Convento da Graça, in Tavira, at 18:30, and admission is free.

To this initiative, which is part of the Álvaro de Campos Birthday Party program, organized by the association Partilha Alternativa, on November 1, on Rádio Movimento Online, there is an interview with Dutch translator Harrie Lemmens and his wife, the photographer Ana Carvalho, against the backdrop of her exhibition at Casa Álvaro de Campos. The interview will take place at 21:00.

On Wednesday, 2nd, at 20:00 pm, it is the turn of Praça da República to host «Vem Noite Antiquíssima», with a collective reading of the poem and lunar observation.

The master of ceremonies will be Vitor Correia, who will guide the audience's reading of the poem, line by line, in Portuguese or English. Afterwards, the moon can be observed through the telescope, under the guidance of Ricardo Freitas, from Centro Ciência Viva decTavira.

The following day, at Restaurante Nó de Gosto, Maria João Neves will make the audience reflect on a theme found in the work of Fernando Pessoa.

This week, the program ends on Sunday, November 6, at Igreja da Misericórdia, with the ROPOQ String Quartet.

ROPOQ is a string quartet of professional musicians residing in the Algarve. For this concert, the artists prepared a repertoire ranging from 1890 (the year of Álvaro de Campos' "birth") to 1935 (the year of the death of Fernando Pessoa), presenting a sample of what would have been, in that period, the «expression in rhythm, without the intermediary of the idea", to which Pessoa refers.

This year, the Festival takes place between the 15th of October and the 30th of November.

Every week, the Sul Informação will bring more news about the program.
