State budget has «a handful of nothing» for the Algarve, accuses the PSD

PSD deputies elected by the Algarve reacted to the OE proposal for 2023

The State Budget (OE) for 2023 reserves «a handful of nothing» for the Algarve region, accused the PSD deputies elected by the circle of Faro, in a reaction to the proposal presented by António Costa's executive in the Assembly of the Republic, last week.

The Algarve social-democratic deputies regret that the Algarve is "a topic practically omitted in the OE proposal" and that it does not include "any measure that responds to the challenges and the harsh reality that the Algarve is going through", despite the European Union " having considered the Algarve region as one of the most economically affected by the pandemic».

«There is no measure in this State Budget proposal to put an end to the chaos in which Health in the Algarve finds itself, nor any concrete proposals to respond to the needs in the scope of water efficiency, even when we are on the verge of running out of water. for supplies next summer», accuse Luís Gomes, Rui Cristina and Ofélia Ramos.

In the “hundreds of pages” of the OE there is “not even a reference to the application of the 50% discount on the A22 tolls, approved in 2021 by Parliament. Once again, the requalification of the EN125 remains to be carried out, despite the fact that the Government is paying, in compensation, 1,26 million euros, per month, to the company that won the tender, in addition to the 30 million that had already been paid in the scope of that legal dispute'.

«Once again, not a proposal that can solve the housing problem and not a line on the realization of investments that allow diversifying the economic base of the Algarve», conclude the PSD deputies, who challenge their PS counterparts, elected by the region. , to look «seriously at the State Budget proposal» and to exercise «its influence with the Government, so that proposals for amendments to the document can be approved that prevent, once again, a hand to the Algarve full of nothing".
