Olhão marks World Animal Day with the expansion of the emergency service

Extension will take place from the 1st of November

The World Animal Day, which took place this Tuesday, October 4, was marked in Olhão by the launch of the expansion of the animal collection service.

Until now, the Municipal Veterinary Services, in conjunction with the Fire Department and the Municipal Police, have already provided a service for the permanent collection of injured or dead animals on public roads, while the collection of lost or abandoned animals was carried out only during working hours.

With the extension of this service, which will take place from 1 November, the Municipality will have an animal collection service operating permanently, 365 days a year.

The way in which citizens report this type of occurrence will also be simplified and centralized, with a single telephone number, which will be disclosed in due course.
