The Municipality of Lagoa was once again distinguished with the “Living in Equality” award, highlighting the work carried out in the integration of the dimension of Gender Equality, Citizenship and Non-Discrimination.
This is the 6th Edition of the “Living in Equality” Award, for the year 2022-2023, and it is the fourth time that the Municipality of Lagoa has been distinguished by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality.
The “Living in Equality” Award has, according to the municipality, the objective of distinguishing and recognizing Municipalities with practices, internally and within the scope of the territory, that promote territorialization, identification and local appropriation of the objectives of the National Strategy for Equality and the Non-Discrimination 2018-2030 – Portugal + Equal, in the dimensions of equality between women and men, preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, and preventing and combating discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation, identity and expression gender, and sexual characteristics.
