GNR detained 61 people and seized more than 500 doses of drug in the last week

The Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) detained 61 people, seized more than 500 doses of drugs and recorded 668 offenses between the 24th and 30th of October in the district of Faro. 

The balance of the operational activity of preventing and combating violent crime, road inspection, among others, from last week was released this Monday, October 31st. 

Of the 61 detainees, 18 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 12 for driving without a legal licenseove for drug trafficking. 

The seizures included 478 doses of hashish, 50 doses of heroin, six doses of cocaine, 19 cell phones, three light vehicles, a motorcycle and 7 307 euros in cash.

In traffic, 668 infractions were detected, of which 135 were due to speeding, 66 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 39 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 33 due to lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint, 22 for lack of civil liability insurance and 20 for improper use of mobile phones while driving.

With regard to accidents, there were 121 accidents, which resulted in one serious injury and 19 minor injuries.

During this period, 53 actions were carried out with 34 elderly people sensitized within the scope of the Elderly in Safety Program and 23 people sensitized within the scope of the Safe School.
