A partnership between Partilha Alternativa with Cheeky Besom Productions and Scotia Bar will take the Alvaro de Campos Birthday Party from Tavira to Glasgow, Scotland, on October 25, at 19:00 pm.
Ruby McCann's poem, Speech for a Birthday Cake, will be read to mark the moment and also to honor one of the founders of Cheeky Besom Productions and the Glasgow Literary Lounge show, who died in February.
The moment will be broadcast live on birthday party social media so that, in Portugal, it is also possible to watch.
On Tuesday, November 1st, the recorded interview will also be broadcast on Rádio Movimento Online, against the backdrop of the exhibition of photographs by Ana Carvalho at Casa Álvaro de Campos, inspired by quotes from the Book of Disquiet, chosen by Dutch translator Harrie Lemmens.
Before that, today, Saturday, 22nd, at 17 pm, at Casa Álvaro de Campos, in Tavira, a tribute will be paid to the Portuguese writer Teresa Rita Lopes, who is also one of the great specialists in Pessoa, with poems by her own.
The initiatives take place after the success of the unreleased concert by Dulce Pontes and Maria João, last Sunday, October 16th, at the Igreja da Misericórdia in Tavira.
Ao Sul Informação, Tela Leão, responsible for the Partilha Alternativa association, which organizes this event that celebrates the heteronym that Pessoa gave birth in Tavira, he says that the concert was «a success and people really liked it» and that all the initiatives have had «strong support» by the public.
Every year, since 2015, the cultural association Partilha Alternativa coordinates this celebration of the heteronym of Pessoa with the participation of individual artists and cultural associations from Tavira and beyond and, over the years, membership has been «increasingly», guarantees the responsible.
This year, the Festival takes place between the 15th of October and the 30th of November.
