Photographic Exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” arrives Faro

It will be open to the public, until the 30th of October, at the CCDR Algarve Gallery

The Photographic Exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo”, which since August 2021 has been traveling through villages, towns and cities in the Algarve, is now open to the public, until the 30th of October, at the Coordination and Development Commission Gallery Regional do Algarve (CCDR Algarve), in Faro.

This is an exhibition that invites visitors to “see” the Fortress of Sagres through the eyes of young people and seniors, aged between 16 and 85, who visited it as part of the “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” Project.

The project involved young people who completed the Professional Course of Tourism Technician at Escola Profissional Cândido Guerreiro in the 2021-2022 school year and seniors residing in the parish of Alte who were invited by them to embark on a journey of discovery, exploration, learning, and joint experience. of experiences, exchange of knowledge, sharing of affections and artistic creation about the Fortress of Sagres.

The trip started at the Fortress of Sagres, where it received thousands of visitors during the summer period of 2021. Afterwards, the Exhibition headed to Alte, where it was at the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Pole, followed by the Rosmaninho Restaurant in Sarnadas, a small town in the parish of Alte.

In 2022, she descended from the Serra to the coast, to be visited at the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth in Faro and later in the Roman Ruins of Milreu – Estoi. The trip continued to the Municipality of Quarteira, the Parish Council of Boliqueime, the Tourist Office of Salir, Editora Sul, Sol e Sal in Loulé, the Parque das Comunidades in Almancil, and after a stop at MAR Shopping Algarve , went up again to the Serra to visit Querença, who welcomed her to the Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation, Ameixial, Tor and Benafim, places where she was open to the public at the Parish Councils.

 

 

After a stop at the Cineteatro de São Brás de Alportel, he returned to Faro, where he was at the Library of the University of Algarve on Campus da Penha and now at the CCDR Algarve Gallery. In November, he will continue his journey to windward, settling in Portimão, at the University of Algarve Library and later at the Vila do Bispo Interpretation Center, where the tour will end on December 30th.

The “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” project, conceived from an original idea by Isa Catarina Mateus, was developed within the scope of the Program for the Promotion and Enhancement of Monuments (DiVaM), of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.

Promoted by a partnership formed by the In Loco Association, the Parish Council of Alte, the Professional School of Alte, CIPRL and its Professional School Cândido Guerreiro, the Center for Animation and Community Development of the Parish of Alte, the Casa do Povo de Alte /Young Altense, had the support of the Municipality of Loulé – Municipal Museum – Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Pole, the Algarve Tourism Region, the National Federation of Film Clubs and the International Federation of Film Clubs.
