Roasted chestnuts, plenty, bumper cars, carousels and much more. It is the Feira de São Martinho that returns, from the 4th to the 13th of November, to the Fairs and Exhibitions Park of Portimão.

This is the oldest popular event held in the city and whose origins date back to 1662.

«In this unavoidable pole of autumn entertainment, there will be no shortage of traditional roasted chestnuts, sweet potatoes, figs, walnuts, roasted octopus, farturas, popcorn, bread with chorizo and other tempting snacks in the bars and taverns in the enclosure, bumper car tracks and carousels, in an event that will once again delight kids and adults alike», says the Portimão City Council.

There will be two themed dates, the first of which is aimed at children and young people (November 10 – Youth Day), while the closing of the fair, on November 13, will be dedicated to families. In both cases, in participating spaces, visitors will benefit from special prices.

As usual, Portimão Arena will host a number of car brands.

On the first day, November 4th, the Feira de São Martinho can be visited from 16:00 pm to 01:00 am, on the 5th it will be open from 10:00 am to 1:00 am, from 6 to 10 am it opens its doors from 10:00 am to 24:00 am and on the 11th and 12th it will receive visitors from 10:00 am at 01:00 am. On the last day, November 13, the fair will open from 10 am to 00 pm.

With regard to access, during the periods when the event is open to the public, the south entrance of the Fair and Exhibition Park is passable, through the riverside area of Portimão, next to the railway bridge, in an area where there are several spaces for parking, as well as the usual north entrance, for those coming from Largo Gil Eanes or Cardosas.

Another way to get to Feira de São Martinho is via the Vai e Vem urban transport network, which has stops at Cardosas, at Parque de Feiras e Exposições and Largo do Dique.

Due to the assembly and disassembly work of the fair, and for the safety of exhibitors and visitors, the Portimão City Council informs "the citizens who usually travel on foot or by bicycle through the Portimão Fair and Exhibition Park, to connect to the riverside area of city, that the passage will be prohibited from October 30th to November 4th and from November 14th to 17th, with pedestrian access being authorized during the period in which the fair will take place, subject to the opening hours of the fair, that is, from 16:00 to 01h00 on the 4th and from 16h00 to 24h00 between the 5th and 13th».
