Loulé will celebrate the Municipal Day for Equality with activities until the end of the month, ranging from art to sport, including gatherings.
The activities aim to involve the community and promote among citizens the values of equality, inclusion and participation.
“Walking and Pedaling for Equality – II Encounter” is the challenge launched on Sunday, October 23, Sunday. The hike has a 7,5 km route, starting at 10:00 am, and the 28,7 km MTB ride, at 9:30 am, starting and ending at Cerca do Convento, in Loulé. Registration takes place at the secretariat services, on the same day, from 9:00 am.
On the 24th, at 18:00, the gathering “Gender Equality!?” at Palácio Gama Lobo the participation of actress Marlene Barreto from Loulé, the External Counselor for Equality Professor Helena Silva Gomes and journalist Marinela Malveiro, who will moderate.
The same theme will be highlighted in the theatrical action that takes place in the Municipal Market. On the 24th the session is aimed at workers in the Municipality, while on the 29th of October it is open to the general public.
During these days, together with the school community, the activity “Equality… Shall we talk?” takes place, in an initiative aimed at students from the 10th to 12th grade of schooling in the municipality of Loulé, which aims to promote discussion on the topic of gender equality.
In addition, within the scope of the national initiative proposed by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, the urban art intervention “Let's reduce the levels of inequality!” takes place.
This initiative will be visible in the Eng.º Duarte Pacheco Monument and in the Espírito Santo Convent, thus making it possible to highlight the inequality that still exists between women and men.
Loulé signed a cooperation protocol with the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, which provides for the preparation of the Municipal Plan for Equality and Non-Discrimination.
