A 53-year-old man, who caused serious injuries to his partner and continued to threaten her after the separation, was arrested by the Portimão PSP for domestic violence and drug trafficking, yesterday, Thursday, the 6th.
Following a complaint, the Criminal Investigation Brigade of Domestic Violence of the PSP of Portimão found that the detainee, while maintaining a relationship with the victim, “always adopted a posture of violence”, reaching “to the extreme of causing him serious injuries”. .
“After the separation, the detainee began to pursue the victim in the places she frequented, insulting her and threatening her with the display of white weapons”, added the PSP.
In addition to these episodes, “the detainee blackmailed the victim with the threat of exposing his personal data to third parties, thus conditioning his free self-determination”.
Yesterday, the PSP carried out search warrants at the man's house, having seized "a large machete, a wooden club and 263 individual doses of hashish".
The detainee will now be presented to the competent Judiciary Authority to apply coercive measures.
