Jesus Herrera Company will put Lagoa to dance flamenco

Tickets are now on sale

The show “Dantzari – Bailaor”, by Compañia Flamenca Jesus Herrera, will be presented at Auditorio Carlos do Carmo, in Lagoa, on October 29, at 19:00 pm.

Jesus Herrera will have Lola Jaramillo as a dance partner. The voices will be Jesus Flores and El Galli, while Ruben Romero (guitar) and Paco Veja (percussions) will be in charge of the music.

Tickets for this flamenco show, which, according to the Lagoa Chamber, «has traveled the world», cost 10 euros, with a 20% discount for holders of a cultural passport, Lagoa Social card or Rota do Petisco 2022 Passport, available at ticket offices in the Municipality of Lagoa, and can be purchased online and at the ticket offices of CTT, Fnac, Worten, Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, Convento de S. José Cultural Center and the Lagoa Municipal Council's Single Counter.

 

About Jesus Herrera:

Jesus Herrera began his artistic career as a flamenco dancer at “Compañía Andaluza de Danza”, with artistic direction by José Antonio, with whom he starred in the most important works of this great flamenco director and choreographer: “Latido Flamenco” (Prague and Budapest), “Perro Andaluz” (Spain), “Encuentros” (France), “Bodas de Sangre” (Granada – Teatro de Los Jardines del Generalife during July and August and Flamenca Biennale in Sevilla) and “Leyenda” (Spain).

In 2005 he was the winner of the National Flamenco Ball Competition for Alegrias (LA PERLA DE CÁDIZ).

He worked with Cristina Hoyos in the show “Yerma y al Compás del Tiempo” with which they toured 25 theaters in Japan. After an intense career in these 2 flamenco companies he decided to start a career as a soloist and choreographer which debuted in London and Amsterdam. He also traveled to Japan and San Francisco (USA) as a soloist with Compañía Yoko Komatsubara.

In 2009/10 he was performing in the city of Tokyo (Japan) for 6 months with his flamenco cuadro in one of the most emblematic places of flamenco outside Spain, the “Tablao El Flamenco”.

In 2017, he presented the show “Dantzari – bailaor” at the Teatro Principal in San Sebastián, with the renowned flamenco dancer Antonio Canales as guest artist. With this show he made a tour of different scenarios in Europe.

In 2019, the work HAMLET “la danza del melancolico” – a combination of flamenco and classical music, inspired by the work of Mussorgsky, premiered at the Victoria Eugenia Theater in San Sebastián.
