The Algarve chef Miléne Nobre, from AP Maria Nova Lounge, represents Portugal in the kitchen profession, as president of the Jury, at the world championship that took place in Lucerne (Switzerland), within the scope of Worldskills International.
Chef Miléne Nobre started her career by participating in the 2010 championships, as a competitor, having reached 4th place (medal of excellence), followed, a few years later, by the invitation to join the kitchen judges team, a Nacional level.
He is currently president of the jury, responsible for organizing the championship and also training national champions for participation in European and world championships.
Portugal began, on 26 September, the pre-selection phase of competitors for the new cycle of championships, with the national championship being held in Portimão in March 2023.
The champion will represent Portugal in the European Championship, in Poland, and then in the World Championship that will take place in France (Lyon).
The structure of Worldskills Portugal is integrated into the IEFP – Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional, which is responsible for organizing and holding the National Professions Championship and assuming the Portuguese representation in international championships.
The Professions Championships, which take place every two years, are competitions aimed at young people between the ages of 17 and 25, who have completed or are currently attending a qualification course, in education and professional training.
They aim to demonstrate the individual level of skills, rigor and mastery of techniques and tools for the exercise of each profession in the competition, through the realization of practical performance tests evaluated according to demanding criteria and in accordance with technical requirements established internationally by juries composed of experts. highly qualified (trainers, professionals, entrepreneurs).
