The films “Cândido Guerreiro, the poet of Alte”, by Jorge Graça, “Carnavais de Loulé”, by António Clareza, “Passeio à Assumadas”, by Zeca Mariano, “Carnaval de Loulé 1974”, by Wenceslau Pinto, and “Ripar to crush”, Jorge Graça will be highlighted in a session that will take place today, Friday, at 21 pm, at the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Pole, in Alte.

This will be the 6th session of the Documentary and Essay Film Festival, promoted by the Associação Casa-Museu José Pinto Contreiras, from Gorjões, in partnership with the Casa da Cultura de Loulé and the Parish Council of Santa Bárbara de Nexe, and supported by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and Municipality of Loulé.

The initiative, which takes place during the month of October, aims to disseminate ethnographic and documentary filmography, by amateur or semi-professional authors who document the Algarve in its various social and cultural facets.

From this initial project, the association intends to build a film collection with a view to creating an Ethnographic Film Documentation Center in the south of the country, in digital format.
