CAMP '22 hosted concerts, talks, workshops and wine tastings

The non-festival in an Algarve vineyard that brought together musicians, creators and thinkers to celebrate the land, the senses and beauty

The 1st edition of CAMP, the non-festival, brought together, from the 7th to the 9th of October, in an Algarve vineyard, musicians, creators and thinkers to celebrate the land, the senses and beauty, making Morgado do Quintão, in Lagoa, a cultural and artistic meeting, in total symbiosis with the public that visited the space during the event.

More than three hundred people visited CAMP'22, which took place among ancient vineyards, under an ancient olive tree and with the imposing Monchique mountains as a backdrop, in which music played a prominent role, combined with a proposal for a challenging cultural program, on an intimate scale.

Carminho, Bruno Pernadas and Mário Laginha provided visitors with some of the strongest and most emotional moments of this 1st edition, not only with their concerts but also through their involvement with the public and local educational institutions.

Carminho received a group of ESPAMOL students for a conversation about music, the fadista career and the dreams that move her. After his concert, Bruno Pernadas hosted a conversation with the CAMP'22 audience, and Mário Laginha gave a class open to students from the Bemposta School Group in the late afternoon.

Over the three days, the CAMP'22 program also included Talks on various topics, from photography to sensorialism, from astrology to poetic creation, including ecology and urbanism, which enriched the world of those who attended the conversations. Names such as Lourenço Lucena, Isabel Saldanha, Teresa Júdice da Costa or Rita Castel'Branco were part of a panel of speakers in inspiring conversations.

There was also a cycle of workshops called “Gentes da Nossa Terra”, developed in partnership with the Loulé Design Lab, a creation, research and experimentation laboratory integrated in the Loulé Creative Project of the Loulé City Council, and daily wine tastings, conducted by Joana Maçanita and Filipe Caldas de Vasconcellos, responsible for Morgado do Quintão and founder of CAMP.

The Municipality of Lagoa and Brotéria were also essential partners for the realization of the first edition of CAMP.

CAMP is not a music festival. It is a meeting between music and culture that come together as a field guide for each person to get lost. And meet. A stage that invites the expansion of thought through art, music, joy and sharing, and the celebration of life.

“For three days, CAMP gathered, in Morgado do Quintão, in Lagoa, thinkers, musicians and creators who joined wine, celebrating the union of culture and agriculture”, said Filipe Caldas de Vasconcellos, creator of CAMP 22.

“This non-festival, which begins on an agricultural property, is proud to have served as a platform and a bridge, facilitating access to another, larger and more comprehensive type of culture. A seed has been sown for future editions,” he added.
