São Brás Chamber approves measures to support families proposed by opposition PSD

PSD councilors Bruno Sousa Costa and Sílvia Revés presented a Local Plan to Combat Inflation

Ten measures of municipal support for families in São Brás de Alportel, which allow them to better face the increase in the cost of living, will be included in the São Brás de Alportel City Council Budget for 2023, following a proposal made by PSD councilors, in opposition in this municipality.

Bruno Sousa Costa and Sílvia Revés presented the Local Plan to Combat Inflation, which includes ten measures (see below), linked to over-indebtedness, food and housing.

«It is imperative that the City Council assume this social responsibility, in order to support and help the people of São Paulo with concrete support measures», they defended.

 

Proposals for the Local Plan to Combat Inflation of the PSD of São Bás de Alportel:

1. Creation of a Support Office for Over-indebted Families.
2. Creation of a Municipal Emergency and Food Support Plan for needy or at-risk families, the elderly or others, duly identified, guaranteeing daily meals, in school establishments or through a protocol with the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de São Brás de Alportel.
3. Reinforce the funds for the “Mão Amiga” program in order to minimize the effects of rising prices, with support for basic necessities, income and primary expenses.
4. Exemption from rent on properties leased by the Municipality, in January 2023.
5. Freezing of rents from commercial spaces of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, in the year 2023.
6. Lower revision of Municipal Taxes referring to markets (places and stores), non-sedentary activities (fairs, street vending and provision of services), as well as the occupation of public roads.
7. Creation of support for displaced university students, who benefit from a scholarship, in a maximum amount of 500 euros per year.
This support aims to support students who attend Higher Education, in families in which there is a drop in income, in order to continue their studies.
8. Implement a program to “Qualify for the job market” to enhance the insertion of the unemployed into the job market, through training and courses for the acquisition and development of personal, social and professional skills, adapted to the needs of the municipality.
9. Reduce the IMI rate to 0,4.
10. Reduce the tariff for social water supply and for large families, currently the same as the normal tariff.
