The exhibition “Fábula Rasa”, with illustrations by Joaquim Rosa and texts by Vítor Encarnação, will be open to the public at the Municipal Library of Loulé Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, from 3 to 31 October, and shows that «in the fable, nothing is definitive".

«Maintaining the timeless lessons of the fable, it is possible to redefine it and adapt it to the present time, starting over with a blank sheet of paper and starting from a “scraped narrative”. We can thus say that in the fable nothing is created, nothing is lost, everything is transformed. And this transformation takes place through our circumstance, our interpretation and our sensory experience. In the fable, nothing is final. Neither the illustrations, nor the words, nor the story, nor its morals», says the municipality in a note.

Joaquim Rosa (illustrator) was born in Castro Verde. From an early age, he showed his taste for drawing and painting. At the age of 14 he learned some painting techniques, exhibiting ever since. In 1992, he graduated in Visual Design. He was a founding member of Fábrica das Artes, in Castro Verde (1995) and, since 1993, teaches in the area of Expressions at the Castro Verde School Group.

Since 2016 he has regularly participated in collective and individual painting exhibitions.
