Download, protect and wait: in November, “A Terra Treme” again

Learn how to participate

On the 9th of November, when 11:09 am strikes, the “order” is to download, protect and wait a minute, for those who join yet another edition of the national public seismic risk awareness exercise “A Terra Treme”, promoted by the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) and open to the entire population and institutions.

This initiative «aims to empower the population to know how to act before, during and after an earthquake, making citizens aware of the fact that they live in a society at risk, and challenging them to get involved in the process of building safer communities and disaster-resilient,” according to ANEPC.

The exercise itself consists of the practice of 3 simple gestures that can make a difference to those who practice them in the event of an earthquake: Download – Protect – Wait.

«In addition to the school-age population, whose adherence to the initiative has been significant over the successive editions, ANEPC aims to gradually expand, year after year, the reflection and debate around the theme of seismic risk and participation in this exercise to other sectors of civil society», states this entity.

"To this end, we consider it important to involve organizations - public and private - in this collective purpose, seeking to join efforts and extract synergies from the whole of society, so that increasingly greater degrees of resilience, individual and collective, are achieved." added ANEPC, which invites "all institutions to participate in this public initiative."

Anyone who wants to participate can sign up following this link. More information about exercise can be found on the website of this initiative.
