Albufeira resumes support program for people with disabilities

“Espaço Integrar” resumes usual activities in November

The “Espaço Integrar”, under the responsibility of the Municipality of Albufeira, will resume its activities next November, with initiatives such as “Brinca Comigo”, “Therapeutic Groups”, “VAI” and “Adapted Yoga”.

According to the municipality, it is a set of actions that essentially aim to «improve sensorimotor skills and promote active life and inclusion of people with disabilities, facilitate positive interaction between parents and guardians and children, prevent the disability of children with relationship and communication disorders, developing general well-being and promoting self-esteem».

All activities take place on the premises of the Municipal Swimming Pools.

“Brinca Comigo” is aimed at parents and children aged between 1 and 5 years old, and will take place on Mondays, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.

The "Therapeutic Groups" are intended for children and adolescents, from 10 to 18 years old, with motor coordination disorders, whether or not associated with other developmental disorders, and will be on Mondays or Wednesdays, from 14 pm to 00 pm.

“VAI – Active Life and Inclusion of People with Disabilities” provides support to young adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism (day and time to be defined) and “Adapted Yoga” is intended for students who attend the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles, taking place on Fridays: the 1st cycle from 16:15 to 17:15, the 2nd and 3rd from 17:45 to 18:45.
