Albufeira reveals its history on guided tours of the old fishing village

On Thursdays

Showing the old center of Albufeira and the history of the fishing village that gave rise to this city is the objective of the guided tours that the Albufeira Council will promote from Thursday, October 6th, until June 29th, always to this day of the week.

Visitors are guided through a circular route of about 7 kilometers (level II, Easy), which introduces them to «the history, heritage and main points of the city».

The meeting point for these tours is at Beato Vicente, next to the Church of Santana, in Largo Jacinto d'Ayet, at 10:00 am.

The Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Orada, patron saint of fishermen, the Clock Tower, «ex-Libris of Albufeira», the Municipal Archeology Museum, the old Castle Wall and the Churches of Sant'Ana, de São Sebastião (Museum of Arte Sacra) and Matriz, are some of the places to visit.

The route will be available soon in the Pedestrian Routes of Albufeira application, with detailed information in Portuguese, English and Braille on the main monuments and equipment along the route.

The visit is free in Portuguese and English, and is subject to prior registration up to two days in advance, through the email address [email protected] or the telephone contact 289 599 502.
