The Union of Parishes of Faro reinforced its car fleet with an electric vehicle, replacing an old and polluting diesel van.
The new zero-carbon vehicle will support the intervention teams in the city's Gardens and Green Spaces. «This is a sustainable transport, ideal to circulate in a city environment, non-polluting and environmentally friendly», emphasizes the UFF.
In 2021, the Union of Parishes of Faro secured the “Ecofreguesias XXI” award, being the most sustainable parish in Portugal, obtaining a rating of 96,72% and which already this year obtained the “Autarchy of the Year” award in the Environmental Awareness category.
For Bruno Lage, president of the Parish Council, “it is crucial that municipalities have an increasingly robust and effective environmental awareness, in order to create conditions so that their cities, towns or villages are in fact more ecological. and sustainable. In this sense, the Union of Parishes of Faro intends to continue to lead in this area and to be an example at national level, proudly assuming this eco bet”.
