45-year-old English tourist dies on Peneco beach in Albufeira

Victim was promptly assisted by INEM, on the beach, but it was not possible to save her

A 45-year-old woman, of English nationality, died yesterday after allegedly feeling unwell when leaving the water, on Peneco beach, in the municipality of Albufeira, announced the National Maritime Authority.

Following an alert received at 13:15 pm, through the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisboa), informing that a person was feeling unwell after getting out of the water at Peneco beach, they were sent immediately. elements from the local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão, from the “SeaWatch” Project and the Medical and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from INEM.

The victim, a 45-year-old woman of English nationality, was promptly assisted on the beach by INEM elements, who carried out the resuscitation maneuvers, and it was not possible to reverse the situation.

The death was declared on the spot by the INEM doctor, and the body was later transported to the Legal Medical Office in Portimão, by members of the Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira, following indications from the Public Ministry.

The local command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the incident.
