Teia d'Impulsos recognized with public utility status

Public utility status was granted for a period of 10 years from the publication of the order

The Teia D'Impulsos Association was recognized by the Government as a public utility. The order was published on the 9th of September, in the Diário da República.

This recognition was given for the development of «relevant activities of general interest in the social, cultural and sports field» and for its cooperation with the Municipality of Portimão «in the pursuit of its goals».

The order was published, after the decision of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to grant the status of public utility to Teia D'Impulsos.

Such status may be attributed to "legal persons that pursue purposes of general, regional or local interest and that cooperate, in this context, with the central, regional or local administration", as explained in the declaration, signed by the Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council. of Ministers André Moz Caldas.

That same document reads that Teia D'Impulsos «has been developing, since its establishment in 2011, relevant activities of general interest in the social, cultural and sports fields, namely through cycles of debates on the development of the city and the region, the raising of food products to be distributed by institutions [À Bola para Ajudar] and the promotion and dissemination of knowledge and traditions, raising awareness of the importance of oral heritage [ForA – Festival of Orality of the Algarve]».

The Portuguese Government also notes the association's cooperation with "the Portimão City Council, in pursuit of its goals".

Public utility status was granted for a period of 10 years from the publication of the order.

For Luís Gonçalves, president of Teia d'Impulsos, this attribution «only increases the responsibility» of the association.

«We are very happy for the recognition that demonstrates the work and everything we have developed along our path in the different areas that have had a very big impact in our region», he says.

«This recognition comes to say that we have contributed and that we are contributing to our society. It is a recognition of Portugal. Our responsibility only increases from now on, to continue worthy of this distinction. We want to maintain our dynamics and seek to maintain the activities that have given our association this prominence over the years and that have contributed to taking the association to this level», he adds.

«This merit comes from the entire structure of the association and members, partners and volunteers who have been with us on some part of this path, and especially those who from the beginning and who give their best for an association with these ideals. A thank you to everyone who collaborated and participated in our initiatives over all these years. Without you it would not have been possible”, he concludes.
