Rota do Petisco starts this Wednesday with delicious news

Snack bartenders have 33 days to visit 11 municipalities and 220 participating establishments.

The 12th edition of the Rota do Petisco starts today, Wednesday, September 14th, and continues until October 16th, once again covering the entire Algarve region.

Snacks now have 33 days to visit 11 municipalities (Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Portimão, Monchique, Lagoa, Silves, Albufeira, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira) and 220 participating establishments, to taste the best snacks and collect award stamps.

The new Passport, which guarantees access to all the snacks on the Route at a very inviting price – Menu Petisco (3,5€) and Menu Doce (2,5€) –, is now available for purchase at official points of sale, namely, in municipal and cultural spaces, tourist offices and institutions supported by Rota Solidária, as well as in all participating establishments.

Snack-eaters can also find out where to find their Passport and take a look at this year's snacks at www.rotadopetisco.com.

After 11 successful editions, and having received the National Award for Gastronomic Tourism in 2021, the Organization decided that the time had come to change the image of the Route to something younger, colorful and based on fun illustrations. This was the proposal of BuummDesign, the event's new design partner.

With a new Passport, the website was also completely renovated to accompany this new “dress”. Snacks should check it out for possible hourly updates and check out all Vegetarian Options.

New modalities, partnerships and discounts

The modalities of the Rota do Mundo, restaurants with typical cuisine from other countries, and the Route of Chefs, signature dishes with regional products, are back and, this time, the renowned chefs of the region even come to ride Audi, official sponsor of this modality.

The absolute premiere is the Memory Route, with seven snacks that promise to remember old times and that, deep down, are timeless in Algarve cuisine.

In addition to the usual advantages that the Passport gives to snacks in each of the participating municipalities, such as free admission to museums and discounts on events, there is a new section in the Passport dedicated to the Route with Discounts from various entities and companies that have joined the event.

Among the new partnerships is Grupo Entreposto with its “Rota do Automóvel”, through which snacks will have access to discounts on vehicles and workshop services in some concessions; the “Van do Petisco”, a service run by Happy Van that gives the opportunity to travel the Route in a bread van; and Conserveira do Arade, with discounts on visits to its space and purchases at its store.

Collect stamps and win prizes

Snack-eaters who manage to collect 12 different stamps in their Passport are once again eligible for the most diverse prizes on the Route, such as tickets to Sand City, Slide & Splash, Zoomarine, SPA Salino Água Mãe; stays with Orbitur, Pedras da Rainha or Pedras d'el Rei; boat trips, visit to wineries with tasting of Algarve Wines, massages and/or tattoos.

This year, the Rota Especial Award consists of a two-night stay, with breakfast included, at White Shell Beach Villas.

Snacks are invited to vote for their favorite establishments, with “Best Menu” and “Best Spirit”, and write a sentence about the event. The most creative snack wins the prize.
