On the 24th of September, between 00:00 and 08:00, the PSP carried out a special crime prevention operation in the nightlife area of the city of Faro.
In a note, the PSP states that, within the scope of this operation, several individuals who were on public roads and inside night entertainment establishments were controlled and identified, the respective establishments were inspected and that vehicles and their drivers were also inspected. , on the access roads.
In the road inspection component, five people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and one without a legal license, in addition to other offenses associated with driving.
13 fines were also passed for infractions related to the operation of establishments, private security and road safety, which will be sent to the competent administrative entities.
According to the Public Security Police, there will be continuity of this type of operations in nightlife spaces with the aim of «preventing crime and guaranteeing safety to those who frequent these spaces».
