Portimonense won the fourth consecutive victory by beating FC Famalicão by a ball to zero, this Sunday, September 4, at Estádio de Portimão, in a game counting for the 5th round of the I Liga.

The only goal of the match was scored in the second half, at 65 minutes, by central defender Pedrão. Just two minutes later, Welinton Júnior, also from Portimonense, was close to scoring, after a cross by Rui Gomes, but the ball went wide.

With this result, Paulo Sérgio's team now has 12 points, equaling FC Porto, and being just three points away from leader Benfica.

After only losing once, against Boavista, the Algarve team is in fourth position in the Portuguese championship.

Portimonense's next game is scheduled for Saturday, September 10, at 18:00 pm, against Sporting, in Alvalade.
