Quarteira and Loulé swimming pools reopen on October 3

The spaces had been closed for a few months due to the drought situation.

The indoor swimming pools of Loulé and Quarteira will reopen on 3 October, the Loulé municipality has just announced.

The spaces had been closed for a few months due to the drought.

In a press release, the Loulé City Council guarantees that, despite the reopening, «the measures based on the Municipal Contingency Plan for Dry Periods will be maintained, highlighting the actions that respect the waste of water, such as the placement of flow rate and timers on taps and showers or the installation of toilets with a more efficient response capacity».

In the same vein, the priority action “Reuse of water from Municipal Swimming Pools” is contemplated.

“This aims to make effective use of the volumes of water associated with the daily operation of Municipal Swimming Pools and possible solutions for their reuse, such as watering lawns and gardens or washing existing equipment in the vicinity”, explains the municipality.

Measures or initiatives such as awareness-raising and information reinforcement will also be implemented in all facilities.
